Here are TWO Judas Priest Ram It Down Mercenaries of Metal concert tour books from 1988.
Purchased before (and after) their concert at the Seattle Center Coliseum on October 19th, 1988. They only played two more shows on this tour after that date!
It was my first concert ever, and I was 15. I had no idea what to expect. I wanted to bring home a tour book, though... I knew that for sure.
So I made sure to get one before the show.
The opening act was Slayer, and there I was in the pit. You better believe that tour book got trashed :)
I discovered that the pit wasn't really best for me though, skinny 15-year-old that I was... It was a general admission show, so I worked my way up to the bleachers between acts.
I was still light-headed from the contact highs in the pit... I was told at least twice on my way to the bleachers on Glenn's side, "Hey kid, your shoe's untied!" LOL! They weren't wrong...
By that point, though, my tour book was trashed.
So, the damage being done, I made sure to wave it in the air like a maniac from the bleachers any time Rob Halford glanced in my direction.
And he noticed!
At the very end of the concert, a platform rose up behind the stage with Rob on it, wielding what may be best described as a light cannon on a swivel.
He sought me out with that light FIRST THING as I squinted my eyes and waved that wrecked tour book with both hands above my head, jumping up and down!
What a memory...
But yeah, my tour book was trashed... For the best reasons possible :)
I made sure to pick up another one on my way out so I'd have one in good shape, since I realized at that point that, no, they weren't going to run out.
So here they are!
My trashed tour book, and my nice one.
Pick them both up today... You'll always have one you can thumb through without having to be so careful about it! LOL!
