Mexican artist Smithe created this beautiful tin inspired by two distinctly Mexican embroidered styles: Tenango-Hidalgo and Mariachi.
Tenango-Hidalgo is an old style that typically portrays mythic flora and fauna in uniquely striking ways. Its color pallet is specific to east-central Mexico, utilizing deep greens and purples with pastel hues.
Mariachi embroidery takes a more intimate approach, with personal histories intricately woven into each person's clothing. Elements of Patron's story can be seen in the form of the iconic Patron Bee, Weber Blue Agave and distinctively cut agave pinas.
