These beautiful, durable German coins were minted
between 1923 and 1936,
first by the Weimar Republic and then the Third Reich!! The fronts feature high relief numerals framed by oak leaves while the backs display shafts of wheat, all in the art deco style that was blossoming across Europe at the time.

Reichspfennigs were issued between 1923 and 1936. Rentenpfennigs were issued between 1923 and 1925 only. The latter were intended to curb hyperinflation. The German mint marks during this period were: A Berlin, D Munich, E Muldenhutten, F Stuttgart, G Karlsruhe, J Hamburg.
