    Description

You may have noticed my other Miehle V-50 Vertical press parts sales.  I have a Heidelberg KSBA, and it works a LOT better than the vertical.  I even have some tricks to let me get closer to the gripper with a numbering machine, perf, and score, so I am disassembling the V-50 and selling it part by part.  Let me know if you have any specific part you want me to list, and I'll endeavor to list it ASAP.
This sale is for the Impression Cylinder (Gear) Rack, part #22503.  It is about 37" long.  The rack is in great shape except for a few dents on the corners of some teeth I caused when removing it.  Otherwise, the teeth look and feel new.  Chalk up one for compulsive oiling. The teeth are about 33/128" spaced apart from same edge to same edge, and each tooth is about 13/128" thick.  There are 43 teeth in 11 inches.  Metrically, the teeth are about 2.1 mm thick.  There are 31 teeth in 208 mm.  The rack is mostly 1 3/16" (3 cm) wide, with the last 4 1/8" only being 1 1/16" (2.7 cm) wide.
Keep in mind that the impression cylinder AND the cylinder frame have to be removed from the front to install this part.  A few smaller assemblies also have to be removed to get to the 4 huge cylinder bolts, which require a 15/16" hex key.  The cylinder weighs a LOT less than I thought it would.  I estimate it at only about 100 pounds, which can be handled by one strong guy (me), or two normal strength guys.  The rack cannot be removed from the back, but ALL the installation screws and bolts that hold it in are only accessible from the back.  The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years, when I got the KSBA.  The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003.  After 2003, it was used virtually never,  maybe 2 - 5 jobs a year.
Most scratches and rust are only on the surface.  I will tell you if there is any significant issue with a part.  If I put a part up for purchase, it is because I believe that someone can use it.
If  you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap.
I usually ship USPS for light cartons, but I look at other ways to get the lowest cost.  Shipping weight will be about 11 pounds.
I will combine shipping on all my items.  The ebay algorithm is too complex.
Packing, insurance, signature confirmation included in S/H.
Returns accepted.  International shipping ok. The ebay and USPS delivery estimates are wildly optimistic. My experience is that international shipping will take 10 - 21+ days until delivery. Only Express Mail has a chance to meet the delivery estimate.
Local pickup ok on all my items. .00 pickup charge for small items.
Alternate payment methods ok if no paypal account.  Contact me for details.
INSURANCE NOTE:  I try to insure every shipment of .00 or more by ebay's insurance.  Unfortunately, 2012 postal regulations forbid insurance on certain types of postal shipping services  to various countries.  Also, unfortunately, I now usually only find out whether an item can be insured when I go to make out the shipping label.  If insurance is incredibly important to you, email me before bidding and I will try to see if the least expensive shipping service can be insured.  An example of the international differences is that at this time, Canada apparently forbids insurance on all postal service levels except Express Mail Parcels.  In contrast, I have been able to insure First Class Parcels to both Argentina and Switzerland.  I do not personally insure anything.  UNINSURED SHIPMENTS ARE SENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
