Description
LEISY BREWING KING GAMBRINUS BOBBLE-HEAD. PATRON SAINT OF BEER. Leisy Brewery operated in Cleveland, Ohio from 1838-1959. King Gambrinus stood outside the brewery for many decades. He is known to some as a fictional European hero. A Patron Saint Of Beer. Possibly a Mythical German King who learned brewing from the Gods. He was also said to be the creator of beer. Maybe Jean Sans Peur (1371-1419). Or maybe just someone who just drank a lot of beer while dressed like a knight from the middle-ages and wearing a robe and a kings crown whilst partying and telling jokes and old Folklore. Whatever the case and whoever he really was he was said to always make everyone smile jovially and catch a nice buzz. A universal figure to beer and brewing. Always seen with a frosty stein and a small keg to sit on while enjoying the room temperature brew. He was originally used by dozens of breweries in the 1800's as a mascot being a statue larger than life in some cases. Pabst had a mug series. Here is a bobblehead In celebration of beer. Brandnew in original box. Excellent condition. Prost! Full on King's wardrobe and all the accoutrements. Quite heavy.
