With the 47185 Multi-Tow Adapter towing just got a little easier.
Vehicle side connectors are electrical sockets typically mounted within or below a tow vehicle bumper for the purpose of trailer towing. Connectors provide the electrical outlet necessary for powering trailer lights, brakes or other electrical devices. Common connector types range from 7 wire systems down to a 4 wire system.
The 7 RV blade connectors are typically used with larger trailers (RV and industrial). These connectors provide the following functions: left/right turn, taillight, ground, auxiliary, electric brake, backup/reverse.
The larger version of the image at left offers quick installation information.
Installation Notes: Locate wires and pin location by function only. Color coding is not standard among all manufacturers. Ground the white wire to a clean surface on the vehicle frame.
Helpful Tips: Grease applied to the trailer wiring terminals on a regular basis will help prevent corrosion. A heavy duty flasher may be required to eliminate rapid flashing. Always unplug boat trailer connector before backing trailer into the water.
