    GERMAN INFLATION "HUNGER TOKENS"
These rare and unique medals were issued in late 1923 at the peak of German Hyper Inflation. They are almost the size of a U.S. Silver Dollar.  Minted to commemorate the "Suffering of the German People", they show an inflation-stricken family surrounded by thorns.
    TOKEN #1 BRONZE
The reverse reads: On November 1, 1923 it cost 3 Milliarden (3 Billion) Marks for a pound of bread, 30 Milliarden (30 Billion) for a pound of meat, and 1 Milliard (1 Billion) for a glass of beer.
    Absolutely staggering numbers!
    TOKEN #2 BRONZE
The reverse reads: On November 15, 1923 (15 days later) it cost 80 Milliarden (80 Billion) Marks for a pound of bread, 900 Milliarden (900 Billion) for a pound of meat and 52 Milliarden (52 Billion) for a glass of beer.
    Absolutely staggering numbers!
    TOKEN #3 BRONZE

    Trillion
!) for a pound of meat.
