Great pair of late 19th or early 20th century ink blotters advertising Narragansett Machine Company of Providence, Rhode Island. Narragansett manufactured and sold gymnasium apparatus, playground equipment, and lockers. A 1894 New England Magazine article mentions that this company had a complete display of exercise and gymnasium equipment at the World's Fair. One blotter advertises Narragansett's catalogs, while the other advertises a gymnasium wall chart depicting stall bar exercises. The blotter advertising catalogs has an image that appears in Narragansett's 1905 catalog. These blotters are in good condition.There may be discoloration to the catalog blotter.
