    Description

This is the Farmer's, Stockman and Poultryman's Handbook. It gives general advice on the raising, breeding, care and diseases of horses, cattle, hogs and poultry, but is also an extended advertisement for  the Prussian Remedy Company of St. Paul, Minnesota. They made feed and all sorts of veterinary preparations for all of these animals, and there are both actual ads, and glowing mentions of the products in the informational and how-to sections as well. The cover and title pages are missing, and there is no date, but I think it was published in 1906 -there are product testimonials dated from 1906, and there's an section on the new Food and Drug Act of 1907 which had yet to implemented. There are a number of drawings, and photos of people with various varieties of livestock. The booklet is 6 by 9 inches, and 160 numbered pages. The former owner made a new cover for the booklet and pasted some clipping from other sources on the inside covers. The booklet is now apart from the cover. The title page and possibly a few other pages are missing and several pages are apart from the book and not complete. The pages are foxed and fragile.
Though in rather poor condition, the booklet is scarce -I was not able to find another copy of this booklet listed and surprisingly little information or advertising on the company.
